Royal Ascot tip: Hot favourite Tahiyra can leave her six rivals languishing

Comhra poised to cause upset at Royal Ascot

The Coronation Stakes is one of Royal Ascot’s most coveted prizes, and the small field is sure to show that the quality of the seven runners more than makes up for any lack of quantity.

16:20 Coronation Stakes (Group1) (1 mile)
Established in 1840 and named in honour of the coronation of Queen Victoria, this feature race of day four invariably attracts a high-class group of proven fillies.
Winners often come from the top of the market, including last year's 15/8 favourite Inspiral continuing a trend that has seen only one of the last ten winners land at odds above 6/1.
The same is likely this time around, with odds-on Irish raider Tahiyra expected to leave her six rivals languishing in her wake under Chris Hayes.

An impressive two-time winner as a juvenile, she came within half a length of Mawj in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket, but quickly bounced back from that solitary defeat to land the Irish equivalent three weeks later, beating the opposing Meditate with plenty in hand.

That was the closest that second-favourite Meditate has come to Tahiyra in three attempts, although she does have the advantage of previous Royal Ascot success, having landed the Albany Stakes with room to spare a year ago.

Suggested bet: Tahiyra to win the 16:20 at Royal Ascot

We did have Comhra and William Buick lined up as the best each-way option here, but the Jim Bolger-trained filly has unfortunately been withdrawn.

According to Tipstrr's each-way experts, that leaves Queen For You as the the pick of the outsiders most likely to challenge the market leaders.

It would certainly be unwise to underestimate any horse produced by the Gosdens, who have already visited the Royal Ascot winners' enclosure three times this week, most notably to enjoy Frankie Dettori perform his signature dismount from Courage Mon Ami, who landed the Gold Cup so gloriously on Thursday.

Queen For You marked her career debut with a win over this very course and distance in early May, and she was unlucky not to make it two out of two at York last time out, when just failing to get her nose in front of the reopposing Sounds Of Heaven, missing out by a short head .

There's nothing to suggest she won't able to reverse that form here, and if she keep progressing she could well give the principals a run for their money too.

Each-way punt: Queen For You each-way in the 16:20 at Royal Ascot
